SURTIG 312 is for welding cast alloys of similar composition and is used for welding 310 stainless, dissimilar metals including high carbon, armor, stainless clad, air hardening steels (405, 410, 430), and the deposition of weld overlays, wear resistant and heat resistant overlays. SURTIG 312 gives a two-phase weld deposit with substantial percentages of ferrite in an austenite matrix with high resistance to weld metal cracking.
